Honeycomb Vase
Kim Kobialko
Pure NZ Honeycomb, and wire Kapiti artist, Studio Reset, is known for her multi sensory encaustic artworks and has been exhibiting and selling those artworks nationally and internationally for over 15 years. Four years ago, she began thinking how she could push the boundaries of her beeswax medium and take it into the third dimension. With this in mind, this is where her experiments began, with the idea of using the bees to help create the sculpture on a form she fashioned out of wire. After a few failed attempts, she began to consider things like bee space, seasons, hygienic behaviours and embarked on further experiments to achieve success in method.
